1.Who we are
Basis is a Luvu product that sources fully consented human data for AI research labs and companies through bespoke consumer apps. This website provides information about our services and a way to get in touch. Commercial engagements — including any delivery or licensing of datasets — are governed by separate written agreements between Luvu and the client, not by these Terms.
2.Eligibility and acceptable use
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use this website. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and not to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, its servers, or related systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the website;
- Introduce malware or any other harmful code; or
- Scrape, harvest, or collect information from the website except as expressly permitted.
3.Intellectual property
The website and its contents — including text, graphics, logos, the Basis and Luvu names and marks, designs, and underlying software — are owned by Luvu or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the website for your own informational and business-evaluation purposes. No other rights are granted, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
4.Data, licensing & contributors
Basis delivers human data to clients under bespoke commercial agreements. The scope, ownership, and license granted for any dataset or deliverable are defined exclusively in the applicable agreement between Luvu and the client, and nothing on this website constitutes a grant of rights to any dataset.
Contributor data is handled separately. The human data Basis provides is sourced through separate Luvu products. Contributors are onboarded, informed, and provide consent within those products, under their own terms and privacy notices. These Terms do not govern that relationship and do not grant Luvu or any client rights in contributor data — those rights are established solely through the contributors' agreement with the relevant Luvu product. Luvu represents to its clients, in the applicable commercial agreement, that the data it delivers is collected with appropriate consent and licensing.
5.Third-party links
The website may contain links to third-party sites or services that we do not control. We provide these links for convenience and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party.
6.Disclaimers
The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information on it is complete or current.
7.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Luvu and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) this website. Our total liability for any claim relating to the website will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Luvu and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the website or your violation of these Terms.
9.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
